How do I make a donation?

The Washington Young Sinfonia is now on hiatus and not accepting donations.

Is the Washington Young Sinfonia a not-for-profit institution?

Yes! The Washington Young Sinfonia was approved on 6 December 2019 as a Domestic Nonprofit Corporation in the District of Columbia.

Is the Washington Young Sinfonia registered with the IRS?

Yes! WYS has received its EIN (Employer Identification Number, 84-3891807) from the IRS, which has allowed us to open a bank account and begin fundraising.

Is the Washington Young Sinfonia a 501(c)3 organization?

Yes! The Washington Young Sinfonia is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) Domestic Nonprofit Corporation. Its tax-exempt status was awarded 22 January 2020.

Is my donation be tax-deductible?

Yes. All donations to the Washington Young Sinfonia are tax-deductible. Donations made in 2019 (before the IRS awarded us 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status are still tax-deductible for the 2019 fiscal year.

What does my money go to?

Donations support WYS as it pays for occasional rehearsal venue rental, pays staff overtime costs at New York Ave Presbyterian Church, pays a select number of young professional section leaders for their work, prints programs, pays for its website upkeep, and covers other associated costs.
